Calling all Scott Band parents!

As the Scott High School Marching Band just finished their pre-camp by completely setting their opener in tandem with the color guard and percussion beginning work on the closer; one thing is clear: this band means business.  They're one of the hardest working groups that this director is proud to say that he is working with...and they need your support.

This upcoming week of Band Camp provides parents with many ways to contribute here and there as they are able.  The immediate opportunity that we need your help with is uniform fittings.  We are running very short on available volunteers to help out with this.  Beginning Monday, these occur starting at 4 (dinner break).  With enough volunteers, this won't infringe on our band's rehearsal time and every student will be on the football field at 5, ready to put that new Scott Band drive to work.  Currently, fittings will have some students getting back to practice late and could slow our band's progress.  This is why we need you.

To volunteer, you must go by the Kenton County Board of Education to fill out a volunteer form.   This does pose a slight inconvenience, but the positive impact this will have will be well worth it.  Even if you can't sew a hem, your presence will have a tremendous effect not only on the fitting process, but on the morale of our group.  When our kids see you supporting them, they'll stand a little straighter, play a little better, and mean even more business when they get to work.

Mrs. West has been sending out emails recently concerning where we need your help.  Please, if you are able to lend a hand in any way (even for an hour)...let her know.  Our band can only be as strong as the support that backs them.  And don't get me wrong, they are phenomenal this year.   With your help though, they can be something that even they don't realize yet.
